Henry Cavill has confirmed he is “back as Superman,” after a mid-credits cameo in “Black Adam” hinted at his return.
In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, the actor said he wanted to wait for fans to see “Black Adam” before confirming his return to the DC Universe.
“What you saw in Black Adam is just a very small taste of things to come,” Cavill said. “Thank you for your support, and thank you for your patience.”
Cavill was first cast as Superman for Zack Snyders “Man of Steel” (2013), and appeared as the hero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).
Cavills appearance in “Black Adam” hints at a future battle between Superman and Adam, played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“Black Adam” was No. 1 at the domestic box office on its debut weekend, bringing in an estimated $67 million.
