Late night host Jimmy Kimmel is returning to host the Oscars for the third time on March 12, 2023, the awards shows 95th installment.
Kimmels wife, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” co-head writer and executive producer Molly McNearney, will executive produce the event.
Kimmel previously hosted in 2017 and 2018. His first outing is remembered for “envelope-gate,” when “La La Land” was erroneously announced Best Picture winner over “Moonlight.”
The 2022 Oscars ceremony, which was an edited presentation of only eight awards, is remembered for Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.
“Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honor or a trap,” Kimmel said. “Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no.”
