As it gets ready for a historic push into advertising-supported streaming, Netflix is planning to undercut Disney+ by $1 per month. The business said that Basic with Ads, its new subscription tier, will be on sale in the United States on November 3 for $6.99 per month, more than a month before Disney launches the ad-supported version of Disney+ on December 8.
Netflix COO Greg Peters stated in a blog post that there will be four to five minutes of commercials every hour, which will disrupt both series and feature films.
The resolution of Netflix’s Basic with Ads plan is 720p, which is less sharp than the 1080p of its most popular Standard plan. Downloads will also not be allowed in the new offering.
