A new Barbarella film will feature Sydney Sweeney in the lead role.
The Euphoria actress has signed on to a new Sony Pictures project based on the French comic book series by Jean-Claude Forest, which was originally made into a movie in 1968 starring Jane Fonda.
Sydney is also anticipated to act as executive producer, while Deadline reports that the film is still in the production phase and has not yet found a writer or director.
In the Roger Vadim-directed movie from 1968, an astronaut from the 41st century set out to track down the villainous scientist Durand Durand and prevent him from reintroducing evil to the galaxy.
