Director James Mangold took to Twitter to assure fans that Harrison Ford cannot be replaced as Indiana Jones.
Mangold called out “trolls” speculating about the upcoming installment in the franchise, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”
Some have speculated the role might pass to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who plays Indiana Jones goddaughter in “Dial of Destiny.”
“No one is taking over or replacing Indy or donning his hat nor is he being erased thru some contrivance,” Mangold said. “But trolls will troll — that’s how they get their clicks.”
“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” is scheduled for theatrical release on June 30, 2023.
