Steven Spielberg Regrets To This Day The Impact Jaws Had On Sharks

Steven Spielberg fears sharks are still mad at him “for the feeding frenzy of crazy sport fishermen” that hunted them after 1975s “Jaws.”
Spielberg, 75, was asked on the BBC’s Desert Island Discs radio show how he would feel being stranded on an island surrounded by sharks.
“That’s one of the things I still fear, not to get eaten by a shark, but that sharks are somehow mad at me,” Spielberg said.
The “Fabelmans” director said he “truly, and to this day,” regrets the impact the film had on shark populations, which declined precipitously in the years following “Jaws.”
