Robert De Niro could star in a Netflix limited series called “Zero Day,” the first lead TV role of his career, according to Variety.
Currently in development, “Zero Day” would be a political thriller featuring De Niro as a former U.S. president, Variety reported.
Writers and executive producers for the project reportedly include “Narcos” showrunner Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim, the president of NBC News.
If green-lit, it would be De Niros first ongoing role in a TV series. The actor has picked up an Emmy nomination, for his turn as Bernie Madoff in HBOs “The Wizard of Lies” in 2017.
