“Avatar: The Way of the Water” reached an estimated $661.4 million at the global box office through Thursday.
The total for the sequel from director James Cameron breaks down to nearly $200 million domestically and about $464 million globally.

The original “Avatar,” released in 2009, is still the highest-grossing movie worldwide with an estimated $2.9 billion.
