The Disney animated feature “Strange World” bombed at the box office over Thanksgiving weekend.
The family adventure brought in just $18.6 million over the five-day holiday in North America, on a budget of $180 million plus marketing and distribution costs.
Disney could lose upwards of $100 million over the films theatrical run, before it streams on Disney+ around Christmas.
“Strange World,” which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Gabrielle Union and Jaboukie Young-White as a family of legendary explorers, marked Disneys weakest opening in recent years.
