The Oscar shortlists in 10 categories have been announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, ahead of the announcement of nominations on Jan. 24.
Buzzy German film “All Quiet on the Western Front” appeared on every shortlist for which its eligible: International Film, Music Score, Visual Effects, Sound, and Makeup and Hairstyling.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” tied the WWI film to lead with five categories: Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound, Visual Effects, Music Score and Original Song “Lift Me Up” by Rihanna.
Along with international and crafts categories, the shortlists were released for short and feature-length documentaries, as well as animated and live-action short films.
The 95th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, March 12, and will be televised live on ABC.
